Lindsay Lohan May Play Elizabeth Taylor in TV Movie
Lindsay Lohan Elizabeth Taylor - Lohan to play Elizabeth Taylor? Lindsay Lohan has been called a lot of things over the course of her career. But now the troubled starlet may be looking to add "Elizabeth Taylor" to the list. Lohan is reportedly in discussions with the network Lifetime to play Taylor in a biopic titled "Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story".
I honestly hope this all just a ploy to drum up publicity for Lifetime, because the news I'm about to share is rather maddening. Lindsay Lohan is in talks to play the legendary actress, Elizabeth Taylor, in a Lifetime movie. While I do acknowledge that Lifetime isn't always known for lending the highest levels of reality to its original movies, can we all agree that letting Lohan take on the Taylor legacy is just a little indecent?
Let's couple this notion with the fact that the movie isn't a general biopic, instead it is aimed at the screen siren's on-again-off-again romance with Richard Burton and bears the title Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story. It's one of the most classic of all Hollywood romances and I'm just not sure putting Lohan in the role is right for it. Aside from her own Hollywood legacy, Lohan hasn't exactly shown her acting chops very consistently or to great affect in recent years. Then again, we're talking about a Lifetime movie - not a big screen adaptation.
Then there's the notion that people have been comparing the pair for years considering their smouldering semi-resemblance and the fact that neither could manage to escape media frenzy surrounding their personal lives. They both went from child stars to adult actresses and they both had overbearing stage mothers, but only one of them ended up in stealing jewelry, taking pictures with guns and knives, and going to rehab more often than the nail salon. The other is a true American icon. Guess which one Lohan is.
While I'm obviously pretty dubious about handing over the legacy of an icon to Lohan, I'll put on an air of positivity for just a second and say maybe this is her shot to show us that she can do more than walk around naked and dress like a nun in Machete. Maybe underneath all the scandal and attempted sex appeal, there is a good actress who can lend the character some depth. Or maybe Lifetime will further drown its own reputation by casting her in this role.

Justin Bieber goes dubstep, A surefire way to measure if a once-obscure music genre has crossed over to the mainstream is to ask whether Justin Bieber plays it. For bass-heavy electronica style, dubstep, the Biebs just answered that question with an announcement that he’s “experimenting” with the style for an upcoming album
They really are all at it now. Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber has revealed that he's keen to make a dubstep album.
In an interview with USA Today, when asked about his forthcoming new album the pint sized Canadian pop star said,
"I'm about halfway through. What's big right now are beats that are in the clubs, like dubstep. So I want to mess with that stuff, but also stay me."
While Bieber's move from nauseating sugary pop hooks to the sub bass of dubstep may be a shock to some, there could be a simple explanation.
Recent reports suggested, Bieber's manager, Scooter Braunt had claimed that Justin's "balls had dropped", and the singer was struggling to hit the high notes while recording a duet with Mariah Carey.

Police have released a recording of a confession from one of the suspects in the Connecticut home invasion that resulted in the deaths of a mother and her two daughters, NBC Connecticut reported on Tuesday. Joshua Komisarjevsky gave the account to Cheshire police on the day in July, 2007, that Jennifer Hawke-Petit, and her daughters Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11, died in what the accused called "a home invasion gone terribly wrong." The tape, which was released to the public late Monday, was played to jurors last week, NBC Connecticut reported. In the audiotaped confession, Komisarjevsky said he spotted Michaela and her mother at a supermarket, followed them home and later returned with his co-defendant, Steven Hayes. The three family members died after the house was doused in gasoline and set on fire. The husband, Dr. William Petit, survived the attack. Komisarjevsky faces a possible death sentence if he's convicted. Hayes was convicted last year and is on death row.During his confession, Komisarjevsky described what he felt as he followed Hawke-Petit and her daughter from the supermarket. "For whatever reason I chose to follow the mom and the daughter to their house and saw they lived in a very nice house and had a very nice car," he said according to the recording. "I thought it would be nice to be there someday and not have to worry about financial problems and stress and all that that goes with it." In the recording, Komisarjevsky says he and Hayes later broke into the house in Cheshire, beat Dr. Petit with a baseball bat, then tied him, his wife and two daughters up as they looked for money. Police say Hayes later drove Hawke-Petit to a bank so she could make a withdrawal, and then raped and strangled her after they returned to the house.
The hottest thing on the griddle at the Las Palmas restaurant these days isn't the food — it's the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that a cook says she saw on the griddle. Restaurant manager Brenda Martinez says more than 100 people have flocked to the small town of Calexico on the California-Mexico border to gaze at the likeness of the Virgin Mary since it was discovered as the griddle was being cleaned. Among the awe-struck was a group of masked Mexican wrestlers who arrived Thursday for an exhibition at a nearby swap meet. One, known as Mr. Tempest, says: "This is amazing. It's a true miracle."

Kim K. replaced in Super Bowl ad, Reality TV star Kim Kardashian, 31, made headlines for her risqué Skecher's commercial during last year's Super Bowl . However, this year the company has decided to use a dog (see photos of which breed) instead of Kardashian in the Super Bowl spot. The decision reportedly has nothing to do with Kim's recent bad publicity
Kardashian, the reality TV mega-star who was featured in the sneaker maker's racy Super Bowl commercial last year, has been dropped and will be replaced by a French bulldog. The move comes about two months after Kardashian filed for a divorce from basketball star Kris Humphries. But Skechers executives insist that negative PR following the divorce filing has nothing to do with their decision. Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, also has a cameo in the new spot.
After steaming up the airwaves during last year's Super Bowl with a Kim Kardashian ad, Skechers this year has picked a new star for its high-profile slot -- a dog.
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will also make an appearance alongside the company's new four-legged star, USA Today reported.
The reality TV personality has been slammed for divorcing NBA player Kris Humphries two months ago, after a quick, 72-day marriage, a move critics say she made only for fame and money.
CELEBRITY BREAKOVERS: STARS WHO ARE BETTER OFF ON THEIR OWN
Skechers maintains that the negative publicity had nothing to do with Kardashian's absence from this year's commercial; her contract simply ended.
The company released the following statement to the Daily News:
"Kim Kardashian has had a tremendously positive effect on the Skechers brand. Not only did Kim's Skechers Super Bowl ad generate over 1.6 Billion positive media impressions for Skechers, but she played a big part in Skechers moving up last year from 388 to 99 among companies with the highest brand trust.
"While Kim's contract with Skechers simply came to an end at the end of last year, we continue to have a great relationship with her as we do with all the other talent who have worked with the brand over the years."
Skechers’ Facebook page jumped from 100,000 to 400,000 fans after Kardashian became involved, Armato noted. Skechers added that the company and Kardashian "may work together in the future."
Bringing in a French bulldog is just one step in a new direction for the company, which is launching a high-tech running shoe business, Armato explained.
“We have to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company,” he said.
PHOTOS: KEEPING UP WITH KIM KARDASHIAN
In the commercial, to air during this year’s Super Bowl, the bulldog races a pack of greyhounds while decked out in a pair of Skechers GOrun shoes.
The company is facing heat from animal activists who say Sketchers mistreated the greyhounds by keeping them in tiny cages at Tucson Greyhound Park in Arizona.
“Skechers using Tucson Greyhound Park as the backdrop for an ad is akin to Hertz calling back O.J. Simpson as a spokesperson,” said Christine Dorchak, president of animal rights group Grey2K, USA Today reported.
Tom Taylor, CEO of the park, maintains that animals were properly treated, and that the cages at Tucson are some of the largest in the country.
Although the single reality star, 31, appeared in a sexed-up Super Bowl ad for Skechers sneakers in February 2011, she's been replaced in the 2012 campaign by an adorable little pooch. PHOTOS: Why 2011 was Kim Kardashian's worst year ever The 2011 spot featured Kardashian wrestling with a half-naked man and showing off a sneaker; the 2012 spot features a French bulldog, wearing GOrun sneakers, racing a pack of greyhounds. But executives for Skechers told USA Today that Kardashian's messy personal life -- her Oct. 31 divorce filing from Kris Humphries -- has nothing to do with the snub. PHOTOS: Craziest headlines of 2011 "Kim got us more attention than we ever dreamed," Leonard Armato, president of Skechers Fitness, told USA Today, noting that Skechers is launching a "high-tech" shoe business. "We have to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company." Kardashian's contract with the company expired at the end of last year; she helped company grow from 100,000 to 400,000 Facebook fans, Armato said. Skechers told Us Weekly in a statement the reality star "has had a tremendously positive effect" on their brand. "Not only did Kim's Skechers Super Bowl ad generate over 1.6 Billion positive media impressions for Skechers, but she played a big part in Skechers moving up last year from 388 to 99 among companies with the highest brand trust." "While Kim's contract with Skechers simply came to an end at the end of last year, we continue to have a great relationship with her as we do with all the other talent who have worked with the brand over the years," Skechers' statement continued. VIDEO: Kris Humphries mocks Kim's weight before their split One human who does appear in the new commercial: Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, now the team of Kardashian's brother-in-law Lamar Odom. "I'm not Kim Kardashian," Cuban says. "But one of the things I do know is high technology and how to use it. "
Jan 10 (TheWrap.com) - Kim Kardashian isn't going to the dogs. It's actually worse -- she's being replaced by a dog. The reality TV starlet -- who raised eyebrows and more than a few pulses with her Super Bowl ad for Skechers' Shape-Up shoe in 2011 -- won't be repeating her shilling duties for the footwear company this year. Instead, Skechers is going with a spot featuring a French bulldog. Woof -- that's gotta hurt. Kardashian earned negative publicity from her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries, but a Skechers executive said that split had nothing to do with this one. "Kim got us more attention than we ever dreamed," Skechers Fitness president Leonard Armato told USA Today. "We have to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company." The new ad will feature the Skechers' spokes-pooch wearing the company's new high-tech GOrun shoes and racing a pack of greyhounds. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will also appear in the ad. "I'm not Kim Kardashian," Cuban acknowledges to the newspaper. "But one of the things I do know is high technology and how to use it." Kardashian's Super Bowl ad for the shoe company last year featured the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star writhing on the floor in a revealing workout outfit, before breaking up with her trainer in favor of Skechers' Shape-Ups.

The move comes about two months after Kardashian filed for a divorce from basketball star Kris Humphries. But Skechers executives insist that negative PR cycle following the divorce filing has nothing to do with their decision. Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, also has a cameo in the new spot.
Some of these women have made their fame fighting other chicks inside the cage. Some made it as ring girls outside of it. But they're all absolute knockouts.
Miesha Tate
Let's switch over to the grappling side of the coin with Miesha Tate. The gorgeous competitor was a member of the boys wrestling team in high school, and transitioned into MMA starting in 2007. Her Strikeforce debut saw her beat Elaina Maxwell by decision and she's made an excellent showing in her fights since, winning a one-night tournament in August to seize the Strikeforce Women's Welterweight Championship. She was supposed to defend the belt against Marloes Coenen this year but the bout was delayed due to a knee injury.
Rachelle Leah
Rachelle Leah had already kickstarted a modeling career before being hired by the UFC at the age of eighteen, but the massive exposure of being a ring card girl for the hottest combat sports promotion on the globe just gave her the fuel she needed to get things in really high gear. The gorgeous girl has featured in dozens of magazines and is currently the co-host of the popular MMAthletics program.
Kyra Gracie
The legendary Gracie family has been one of the most dominant forces in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and by association mixed martial arts, for decades. But it's not just the dudes in the posse that kick some ass - the gorgeous Kyra Gracie is a black belt and works as an instructor both in Brazil and the United States. She's in training to make her MMA debut later this year, and I pity the poor lady who stands in her way.
Michelle Waterson
Known as "The Karate Hottie," model and fighter Michelle Waterson looks as good out of the cage as she does in it. The Thai-American cutie was born and raised in Colorado, starting martial arts training at the age of ten and modeling during high school. She's trained in multiple disciplines and has a memorable appearance on MTV's Bully Beatdown where she whipped the crap out of a female bully. She recently gave birth to her first child, so it might be some time before we see her fight again.
Gina Carano
Often called the "Face of Women's MMA," Gina Carano is one of the most well-recognized fighters in the game today. Born and raised in Texas, she started her career in Muay Thai, racking up a spectacular record before being asked to fight in the first legally sanctioned MMA bout in Nevada. She went on to great success with Strikeforce, winning a number of impressive victories.
Marloes Coenen
Dutch fighter Marloes Coenen comes from an ass-kicking family, with her father and grandfather both practicing the warrior's way, and she is upholding the family legacy ably. She started training at the age of fourteen and made her professional debut at nineteen, racking up an impressive eight straight wins. She currently holds the Strikeforce Women's Welterweight Title and is whipping all comers.
Kaitlin Young
Kaitlin Young started fighting at the tender young age of fourteen, earning a black belt in tae kwon do, and went on to become one of the trailblazers of women's MMA. She's well-known for her endurance, as shown in her fight with Gina Carano that only ended after the referee ruled her unable to continue. She doesn't have the best record as of late, but there's still plenty of time left in her career.
Chandella Powell
The gorgeous Chandella Powell is one of the more recent additions to the UFC's stable of ring girls, making her debut in January of 2010. She was discovered by the company while working as a Bunny in the Playboy Club restaurant, and she's obviously got the body that makes the crowd go wild. Things are only going to get better for this hottie.
Michelle Ould
Going back to the fighter side of the equation with the lovely Michelle Ould. Training with one of the best in the business in Dan Henderson at Team Quest, Ould has explored a wide variety of combat sports, starting with jiu-jitsu and expanding into wrestling as well. She's also the mother of two sons, which makes her a hot MMA MILF. Is that enough acronyms for you?
Felice Herrig
Nicknamed "The Bulldog," we'd sure love to drool over Felice Herrig. The kickboxer first rose to fame on Oxygen's Fight Girls reality show, where she defeated a Thai women's champion, and since then she's racked up a very impressive streak of wins against some very tough competition. I'm sure that only bigger and better opportunities await her in the future.
Arianny Celeste
Let's start off with probably the most famous UFC ring girl in the game - the lovely Arianny Celeste. Born in Las Vegas, the home of the groundbreaking fighting promotion, she stuck around town until being scouted by the company to work as a ring card girl in 2006. Her amazing good looks quickly made her a favorite among the fans, and she rapidly got a ton of other offers, including posing for Playboy in 2010.
