18-year-old becomes town mayor

18-year-old high school senior rides 24 write-in votes to victory to become mayor of Iowa town.High school senior Jeremy Minnier was elected this week 18 year old 24 votes he get to take over as mayor.  Minnier, who is also president of future farmers of america club at his school, says he decided to run because he thought the opinions of his town's residents were being ignored brian zimmerman mayor age 11 the youngest mayor in US history. 
Eighteen-year-old Jeremy Minnier (muh-NEAR’) is in the high school band. He writes for the school newspaper. And he’s mayor-elect of his Iowa hometown.
Unofficial results from the Butler County elections office show the senior at Hampton Dumont High School was elected mayor of Aredale (AHR’-dayl) on Tuesday with 24 write-in votes. Incumbent Mayor Virgil Homer received eight votes.
